DescriptionResponsible for the administration licensing component of the Firearms Act in the Canada Firearms Program 
 
The Chief Firearms Office is responsible for the issuance, refusal and revocation of licences of individuals and businesses, as well as the issuance of authorizations to transport and authorizations to carry 
 
Ensure that individuals are eligible to hold a licence for firearms and that those individuals who have licences continue to be eligible to hold a firearms licence

ApplicationApplication for licences, registration etc. are available on the RCMP - Canada Firearms Program website at www.rcmp-grc.gc.ca/cfp-pcaf. For hard copy applications and forms or to initiate a transfer of firearms ownership contact the Central Processing Site at 1-800-731-4000.;

FeesNew licence applications - $60.00 for the acquisition of non-restricted firearms licence  
New licence applications - $80.00 for the acquisition of non-restricted firearms and restricted firearms  
Minor's licence applications - $10.00/ year, maximum duration of a licence is 3 years
