| Description | The Arthur Binkley Family Resource Centre is a self standing center operated as part of The Children's Aid Society of Brant primarily for the clients of the Society. The Centre is staffed on a multi-disciplinary basis with Early Childhood Educators and Social Workers. These professionals, along with the active participation of other professionals from the agency and from within the community, provide a wide variety of services which are designed to promote and enhance family living and to foster independence and health among participants, families and individuals. Currently the Aboriginal Service Unit offers community-based child protection services from the building. The Child Development Unit is also located at Arthur Binkley Family Resource Center. Child Development Unit: Offers a variety of parent and child drop in community-based programs aimed for children 0-6 years of age. Programs are offered at the Arthur Binkley Family Resource Center as well as multiple other spots in the community. They include the neighborhood resource centres, Best Start Early Learning and Parenting Centres offered at St James Church in Paris, Branlyn/Notre Dame School, Major Ballachey, and Bellview. For teen parents we offer a parenting and support program weekly at the Family Resource Centre. The programs are offered with the following vision: Through community development initiatives, that aim to connect people to one another and to their larger society, we will collectively build communities that are places of safety, hope and pride for all children and families. | |||
